It would have to be Hanifin, not Brodie. Brodie is too old. Since CGY already has Valimaki and Kylington they should be alright on the left side.

Considering how Tkachuk is playing, just based off points (let alone everything else he brings) I think this contract would be a discount. I mean he is going to score 80 points after 2, 50 point seasons. Add to that the toughness that a PWF like him brings and his leadership and the new directions contracts are going (shorter term to capitalize on cap increases and more to RFA's), and he likely goes for ~5-6@8.5.

Obviously the Mitch and Rantanen contracts are going to set the tone before Tkachuk signs, but I would be surprised if it was less than that. If he does decide to go to 8, I would expect him to really charge up the nose for it, in the range of 9 million per year considering. (not sure if he can get more than Kuch, but again, the mitch contract with Rant will determine alot).
