Both those trades are horrible for tampa, you overpaid for Laine and I don't even know what you were thinking with that Arizona trade it's not even close in value. Also, why would tampa trade point in order to only give the money to laine instead? Makes no sense point is a lot better, plays center, fits the team perfectly, plus you get to hold onto Sergachev Miller Raddysh etc.

That's probably because you're undervaluing Hayton and the value of a top 15 pick this year... Hayton's got number one center potential and you'll get one of Broberg, Heinola, York, Lavoie, Suzuki or Newhook.

Still doesn't make sense to get rid of Point and pay Laine instead

Well for one, Point is likely going to get much more than $7.25 per. Not sure how that ARZ trade is really that awful. Hayton is a very good player (plays center), POJ is a 19 year old D man and if they fall out of a playoff spot, you get another top 15 pick.

Now on to the Jets trade...It might be a slight overpayment but it doesn't really hurt the Lightning. Their 2020 pick will likely be 28-31 so not a ton of value there. Sergachev doesn't really have a role with TB as he is stuck behind Hedman and McDonough on the left side. Miller would be a good fit down the middle in WPG and Raddysh is a prospect down the right side eventually to replace Laine.

For the extra 1-2 million more that it will cost to keep Point you do it everytime, kid is so good. Very underrated too

How is he under-rated? Everyone knows what Point has done and that he is going to be paid accordingly. Losing Point sucks but with what is coming back, Tampa isn't in a worse spot. Hayton could end up being as good or better than Point.

This doesnt make sense for the Bolts.
There are a lot of players the Bolts can get rid of before Brayden Point
      1. Ryan Callahan
      2. Alex Killorn
      3. J.T. Miller
      4. Ondrej Palat
      5. Tyler Johnson
      6. Yanni Gourde
      7. Mikhail Sergachev
      8. Brayden Point

Players like Point aren't guys that grow on trees they are hard to find and even harder to develop, when you have someone like Point you do whatever it takes to keep them in the fold and make sacrifices elsewhwere where needed. You keep guys like this and don't trade them for players that "could end up being as good" you keep them because they are already good.

That's great! But that isn't what I did! Also, You can't move Palat, TJ or Killorn as they have full NTC's. Gourde has a full NTC as of July 1 and is over-paid for the next 6 years. Callahan has a partial NMC-NTC and a contract that a lot of teams won't wanna touch. That cuts your list down quite a bit!

      Arizona trade maybe.
      Massive over-payment for Laine.
