That is the question. Are they better off to pay MacArthur and Gaborik to not play for them or Lucic and Russell to play for them??

And why do Lucic and Russell waive their NMCs to go to Ottawa???

That Ottawa trade is not good. For the oilers! Because we are giving up two players that we actually use, and trade them for people that we are not going to use?.

EDM saves ~20 mil in usable cap space to improve from 'players we use' to players that are good. And maybe, just maybe, can let Ty Rattie move on to life after the NHL...

Nope. Bad Ottawa trade. Those free agents signings, except Nyqviat wont happen. That was a good fit and signing thou'! Russel anf Lucic wont wave. Puljujärvi is not first line quality yet. Kassian works well in top 6, is outside the team?? Nope...

How much actually money are the Sens actually paying those LTIR players. Ottawa can pick up some OK vets from cap strapped teams very cheaply.
