Couts is a top 10 center in the league and has a fantastic contract (you know that matters), Ghost is the perfect PP QB for them and again has a nice cheap contract. Garage is a top prospect and they get another lottery chance. That seems perfectly fair.

couturier is pretty underrated nationally, but top 10 might be a stretch. There is at least three or four better just in the division. The pick while its technically a shot at being high, the odds are it will be outside the top 10 since the flyers have played somewhat decent so their % chance at a high pick has lowered considerably from earlier this season.

Couturier don’t play with Giroux , he play with Lindblom and voracek

Nope. Here are Couturier's most common linemates for the past 2 years:

Giroux 1722:01
Provorov 1313:30
Voracek 975:45
Konecny 876:36
Gostisbehere 834:39
...
Lindblom 359:48

Here's Couturier's GF%
with Giroux: 60.33
w/o Giroux: 49.12
Giroux w/o Couts: 52.94

While Couturier certainly brings something to the table, Giroux is clearly driving the line here. Couturier is losing the goal share when playing away from PHI's star.

To me, that says they compliment each other. We can argue about this all day but the top players usually play with other top players. It is just a fact of hockey.

I’m comparing players today, not what they have done historically. Couts wasn’t given a legit chance until last year and has run with it. It isn’t just Giroux. You clearly don’t watch Flyers games if you think he doesn’t create on his own.

Does he, though? At 5v5, his scoring rates are 3rd line without Giroux.

With Giroux: 2.33 points/60 (1722:01) 60.33 GF%
W/O Giroux: 1.54 points/60 (661:46) 49.12 GF%

For sure they do, but clearly Giroux is driving the bus. Couts is a 3rd line C without him.

Couts doesn't even play with Giroux right now and hasn't for most of 2019. You know where he sits points wise in 2019...8th, 45 points in 38 games. That is ahead of Matthews, MacKinnon, Point, Aho, Seguin, Tavares, Giroux, Toews.

So now we're talking about 2019? I was going off your "last 2 years" thing, but since that has proven untrue you're moving the goalposts... ok.

Since I can't sort NST by date, only by season, I'll show you the 2018-19 season numbers:

with Giroux: 2.51 points/60 (621:34 - his most common linemate) 55.41 GF%
w/o Giroux: 1.72 points/60 (523:27) 47.83 GF%

For perspective, Couturier's 2.15 p/60 overall puts him 32nd in the league among centers, so below the 1st line cutoff. His 1.72 p/60 without Giroux puts him 90th in the league, or a very poor 3rd line C for offensive production only. His defensive abilities, while still being below 50%, likely makes him an above average 3rd line center.

Couturier only has 25 points when Giroux is on the bench in all situations for the entire season, so don't try and tell me that he's producing better than Matthews, Point, etc away from Giroux.
