I'm not a fan, Kapanen only produces with Matthews and Williams has 1 less goal then Nylander has points, that's worth a 1st, our best forward prospect and our best out and out shud down D man?
Few points to make,
1.) I'm gonna go out on a limb and say you don't watch many Lighting games. Nylander's been one of the best looking players on the leaf's the past month,
2.) looking at stats this year tells very little of the player he is, True he hasn't had a good start after his hold out, he has definitely returned to form recently.
And if you only wanna talk stats, then look at his stats against Aho's for the two prior years, he wasn't that far behind him.
3.) Necas has a ton of Potential, but a good scenario for Necas is he turns out to be the player Nylander already is, so giving up a first and Necas for Nylander, at a decent cap hit for 5 years is an advantage to the Canes, period. you're crazy if you think that's not a deal we should take.
So you don't like Kapanen? Fair enough I guess, but the He's 22 with a lot of raw talent. not worth Pesce straight up, but not far off either
Advantage Toronto
Put it all together and this is definitely a solid deal for us.
Also, don't under estimate Stelio Mattheos as a solid center prospect. I saw him in the few WHL games and he looked light years ahead of everyone around him. It may be exciting to see what he develops into
