MN declines. Our GM has said multiple times that our prospect pool isn't up to par, so trading away picks for an aging player would make 0 sense for us.

If he cares so much about the "prospect pool" then why'd he trade away good players (Granglund, Niedereider and Coyle) for less good players (Danato, Fiala and Rask) instead of trading for picks and prospects. Maybe they'll give us Dumba and Zucker for Horny and Maatta.

That should add to your prospect pool. If by prospect you actually mean angy mob.

Because our owner doesn't want to rebuild but rather "retool on the fly" to use his words. Fiala and Donato are 22, Granny, Coyle, and Nino were all 26 when they were traded. Donato has been way better than Granlund, Coyle, and Niederreiter were for us this year. Donato leads all rookies in points since the end of February, and he has 16 points in 19 games for us so I wouldn't call him "less good". Fiala has been polarizing, but he's the most skilled forward on our team. If he can quit turning the puck over I think he'll be better than Granlund was. Rask trade was awful, but honestly Nino was playing pretty similarly to the way Rask has for us before we traded him. If Pittsburgh wants to move Hornqvist and Maatta that's fine, but the Wild aren't good trade partners for the Penguins at all. I don't think we trade Dumba period and if we do it'll take an overpayment of a player like Marner or Point for Fenton to move him. Zucker could be had, I think we'd be willing to move him for a 1st in the early 20's and maybe a later pick or lesser prospect.
