Wouldn't the Leafs just sign the offer sheet because Kapanen is worth more than a 2nd? Or would that absolutely kill them?

Might be too steep of a price to pay to match with their cap situation. But again not too sure.

Yeah makes sense. Not really sure teams are willing to take Marleau, Zaitsev or any of those larger deals so it might have to be a sign and trade of either Kap or Johnsson.
