Don't see MTL even considering that offer. If Habs considered moving Drouin (and I they aren't), they'd probably want to do a lateral move 1 v 1 type of deal.

Are you insane??? What exactly does this trade accomplish? A mid to late 1st, and another middle 6 forward that MTL doesn’t need.

Habs need top end talent (which Drouin fits into, Kerfoot doesn’t) and help on LD. Habs fans have to stop trying to trade their top guys at any sign of trouble. Drouin is only 23 years old. He just needs to find more consistency and he can be a 70pts winger in a year or 2. Just relax. This is a mediocre offer at best, no offense.

Oh dont get me wrong, I hate all the stupid Drouin trades because people don't see the bigger picture with him but this one I liked. Although I would prefer it to be a 2020 1st because that its going to be a deeper draft and Kerfoot is only 2 seasons in.. I like his upside. I think he can be just as good as Drouin.

Kerfoot is expendable. There's no room for him in the top 6 and he isn't really useful in the bottom 6. Drouin is also younger and has a higher upside.

Why is there no room for kerfoot, but room for drouin? The only reason mtl fans are talking the drouin trade at all is because he use to pick up all mackinnons loose change in the Q.. landeskog is a much better left winger for MacKinnon, therefore I dont see a need to trade away kerfoot and a mid range first rounder for him

What is it about the trade you don't like? Do you not like Drouin? Do you not like losing Kerfoot? or do you think it's an overpayment?

My thought process is:
Drouin > Kerfoot by quite a bit. He is a 23 year old 50 point scorer signed for the next 4 years at a good cap hit.
The 2nd line the way it is hasn't worked and an upgrade is needed. The lines don't really matter and you can change them up based on what happens in training camp. I put Landeskog on the 2nd line to balance the scoring and get a more experienced winger to help Jost get going. Jost and whoever they get with the Ottawa pick need some veteran help on their lines to help them figure things out. Having all the younger players on one line left them struggling and losing confidence.

My problem is that for weeks now every Montreal fan is overvaluing drouin saying he has elite talent, hes a 20g30a guy so far, hes got like 10 more points than kerfoot, so yes it's an overpayment... the gap for one 2nd line forward moving up 10 pts a season is not a first round pick.

The only reason that they want the world for drouin is because of where he was drafted, which is because MacKinnon in the first place
