How good is Cole Caufield

Created by: brady37
Team: 2018-19 Montreal Canadiens
Initial Creation Date: Mar. 28, 2019
Published: Mar. 28, 2019
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Habs need a sniper in their lineup and there isn't a better way than to draft one.

But I'm wondering if they should draft Caufield, has anyone seen him play and is he a really good sniper with high potential or is he just benefiting from Hughes?

I'd say I doubt GM's let it happen again, but I'd be lying

He would slip, just wait. I was called crazy for calling DeBrincat top-10 player in that draft..

Every year it happens, you'd think they weren't getting paid to see these trends. Barzal was arguably a top 5 player in his draft on draft day. Players go late/undrafted that have the skill of first rounders but size issues. Tyler Johnson, Marchessaults, Gourde the list goes on.

From the tape I've watched, he has easily the best shot I've seen of all the players projected to go in the first round. His release is lightning quick, he has a ton of power behind it, and he goes to all the right areas on the ice to score. I'm a Badger fan so I'll know more about him next year, but as of now I like him a lot and I wouldn't be surprised to see him drafted in the top 15, maybe even top 10. The knock is obviously his size which could cause him to slide to the Habs pick...

Edit: basically in my opinion he's a top 10 talent that may or may not be drafted where his talent would indicate based on his 5'7" frame
