Question What would it cost NYR to acquire Hamilton this offseason

Created by: rja
Team: 2019-20 New York Rangers
Initial Creation Date: Mar. 28, 2019
Published: Mar. 28, 2019
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
I was curious what others might think the price on Hamilton, or even Faulk might be. There is a chance that CAR does not wish to re-sign Hamilton at the end of the contract (because he may ask for more than they are comfortable), and there is also a chance Adam Fox decides to test free agency and not sign with CAR. CAR may then wish to maximize return on at least one of their RHD assets.

I figured that they could be interested in a cheaper option to replace Hamilton in Pionk (so CAR's right side would be Pesce Faulk Pionk). I know that Hamilton produces way more, but they are getting back a NHL defenseman who can move the puck. Also, CAR might possibly need replace Ferland if he leaves, so I thought Namestnikov could work. Historically, he has shown that he puts up numbers with top players like Stamkos, so maybe he slides onto the Aho line? I understand he's not as large as Ferland, but he plays bigger than his size, and CAR already has decent size to begin with.

I know they have time left on his contract, but the sooner you move Hamilton, the more return you should receive.

Other than that, I am not sure what else to add here. Should the pick be a first? Should a prospect be added? Let me know your thoughts.

Zibanejad, Skjei and 1st, your asking Carolina for a top 3 defenceman in the league over the past three years, NYR going to have to pay up if they want him.

You have point, the offer above is insufficient, but yours is nothing short of Lunacy.... that package you've mentioned gets much more than just dougie Hamilton...

I know it's not enough; I am asking what else needs to be added.

If the Ranger's first is around 6th overall that strait up would be enough

Or WPGs 1st, Namestnikov and Brett Howden (assuming WPGs pick is around the 28 range)

If Canes think they are OK on defence, and need help at forward....then something like 2 years of Hamilton for one year of Kreider and Namesnikov. Rangers might fill their forward need with Panarin.

No I knew what you meant by that, but I was asking what else needs to be added to the original post's proposal.
