Say LA get 2nd overall and Avs get 1st via Sens, what would the Kings have to send to Colorado to swap picks and get Hughes?

Value is very similar but Hughes is consensus #1 and a centre. I'd say LA would have to overpay and wouldn't do it. Maybe something like their second round pick and Campbell as the Avs may need a back up goalie to replace Varly next year, so it's going to be more than LA want to give up.

Hughes has more value, but the two could be equated to MacKinnon and Rantanen in Colorado. Both game changers, but if you had to choose one it would be Hughes/MacKinnon over Kakko/Rantanen

I actually would love the Avs to draft Kakko, so I think an ideal return would be a 2020 1st,

but a 2020 2nd and a prospect like Hults/Prokhorkin (who may not return to NHL) would seem more plausible for a move from #2 to #1

Agreed, that's another type of deal you'd expect, and yes I'd prefer the Avs to draft Kakko, they have more than enough prospect centres even if none are Hughes level. Kakko I just feel would be more beneficial to them. The reason I'd prefer LA's second in the '19 draft is that with either that pick or Colorado's own they could nab Nolan Foote & Spencer Knight (or the other way around).
