upgraded wings and bottom 6

Created by: skysniper_11

Initial Creation Date: Apr. 8, 2019

Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
As a challenge i set the cap half a mill less than predicted. This is in my opinion the simplest way to upgrade the team. A 4 mill top 6 winger, this could also be achieved through free agency however edm struggles with attracting ufas.

The second thing that i think should be a priority is a solid 3c, nuge is too good to be a 3c and no one else has proven to be capable.
yes i know offer sheets are pretty much dead and gone but a man can dream. I am not super familiar with what the asking price for Jenner would be, so I took a shot in the dark.

I like the reasoning but I don't like you've got Benson, Jones, and Marody all slated in your roster. IMO they need another year in the AHL to prove this year wasn't a fluke. Let them develop and then push for spots next March

Columbus declines that trade pretty quickly.... we need more forwards, not defensemen. Sorry but Jenner is more important to Columbus future then Bear would be and Manning is pretty bad, almost a cap dump... sorry

We can debate if there will be any offer sheets (I don’t think there will be) but even if there is it’s gotta be something that the leafs can’t refuse, if you made it 4.1 mil and gave up a 1st and a third the leafs don’t match but they will absolutely match this and if it puts them over the cap then they will Trade kappy for a lot more than a 2nd

I definitely agree with Benson but the other 2 I think have developed well and there should be no reason (other than poor play) that they couldn't step up to the show and be eased into there roles.

darn I am hoping to find a trade involving bear plus for a reliable 3c. Any other suggestions?

hmmm I didn't remember that they can go over the cap in the off season. Thats a good point might be better off sending a 2020 1st and a b level prospect and see if they bite otherwise yea 4.1 would be the better way to go.

I'm skeptical about Marody panning out as a 3C. He has poor skating. I hope he makes it but I think he's likely going to be playing wing if he doesn't improve his skating.

I like that he has the smarts to play center but I think we'll have to wait and see for if the skating proves to be an issue.
