No reason for him. Similar to Pasternak, he takes a bridge deal that ends and he becomes a UFA. Tampas a wagon, the city is great, and his contract goes a lot further there than in most cities. Hes definitely going to take a cheap bridge deal, especially when all of his team mates have taken discounts to stay there. I dont see why he would want to take 10.6 and completely screw his team and GM.

Even on a bridge deal, he's getting in the "9"s. He's better than Pasternak, or at least has put up better numbers prior to receiving a contract

Even if they don't, he isn't getting in the 7 range. I don't think he gets into the 10s unless it is a 7 or 8 year contract.

He is going to make at least a million more than Rantanen, and Rantanen is looking at 8M for a bridge deal, 9.5 fora long term

Tavares took less to come to Toronto.... I don’t think mathews gave two $hits.

It’s not a horrible contract and it does walk him to ufa but I still think he gets north of 8m on a 4 year deal.

This.

It's unlikely, but gives Tampa more room next year.

Four years is going to be 8.5/ 9 M

6-8 years is in the double digits

Just laughable conversation about Point.

1. Comp with Pasternak .. who I like .. is silly. POINT is a center AND nearly doubled Pasternak points last couple years. To compare these 2 is silly ... Matthews Edmonton centers etc. Are the comps and its 8 years 80M

2. DISNEYWORLD syndrome .. Point taking a bridge because Florida is so swell and the team is gosh golly so fun. So tired of morons saying this. AGREE with multiple comments above on his agent under firing squad to even consider it.
