While I agree with your assessment of talant, Columbus dumps cap and picks up a 3rd. I do not watch the Jackets, but a third may be about the correct value of Wennberg (Buffalo got Sheary for a 4th). Wennberg may actually be more difficult to move than Sobotka. $4,900,000 ($1,250,000 more than Reinhart's salary) for 4 years while Sobotka's $3,500,000 contract is done at the end of next season. You can do the math, the Jackets get a 3rd and dumps salary. IMO Betterall would not make this trade.

I don’t see why Columbus would need to “dump” his salary? It’s not like we are in a cap crunch for next season with Bob, Panarin, Duchene and Dzingle leaving....

Sure, I understand, so you do not like the trade and I do not like the trade, perfect the trade is not made. BTW what do you think is Wennberg's value? Keep in mind Sheary was traded to Buffalo for a 4th.

Wennberg is better then Sheary..... he’s only 2 years removed from a 59 point season.... I feel that he just has no confidence and that things just seem to not be going his way. But he’s also making about 5 mil which is not looking too good. All that being said I wouldn’t move him because of the upside he possesses being only 24 years old.

Thats why i would love to take a flyer on him. Maybe he just needs a change of scenery. Him getting healthy scratched cant help his confidence

I think a lot of teams will be asking about him this offseason and next year will be a whole new team in Columbus and he will be one of the guys that has to step up if they’re to be successful. I don’t know if that’s possible.
