Making the most of the draft

Created by: ChiHawk
Team: 2019-20 Chicago Blackhawks
Initial Creation Date: Apr. 14, 2019
Published: Apr. 14, 2019
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
NOTE: Colorado pick is the #16 for Saad, Colorado keeps their #4 pick.

Hawks get Cozens hoping to find their future Toews.

Early in the 2nd round, the Hawks take Chicago local kid Alex Vlasic; 6'6" 192lbs LHD.

Future D lines 3 seasons from now and for the long term future:
Byram - Boqvist
Beaudin - Jokiharju
Vlasic - Mitchell

Plenty of cap space for next year also plus Hawks should have an automatic good shot at the lottery with OTT's first rounder. OTT does this because they need to rebuild quickly and another mid first rounder helps them do that ending up drafting the coveted Spencer Knight.

Wrong; Beaudin is 1 year away from the NHL and not only was it a player they targeted last year, Beaudin has developed far better then scouts thought. He's easily worth a #15 pick right now and adding Perlini is just icing on the cake.

No, man, why would we do that? Let's say we want to take #7 Dach, Turcotte or Zegras . Anisimov is not worth eight positions in the draft, the second round also does not add to this. The fans of Minnesota offers Zucker + #12 for #7, it would be possible to think, but not here.

Depends who it is. For Dach then no. For Zegras it's worth thinking about. Anisimov and a 2nd rounder which Buf doesn't have today, could be worth 8 spots depending on who's available.

For anyone, in the top 10 will go four interesting center: Cozens, Dach, Turcotte and Zegras, two of them will probably reach #7, some of them we take, it would be stupid to trade eight positions for Anisimov, he is not the player for whom it is worth doing, Yes, we do not have the second round, but we have two picks first round.
