Sure why not see if PanarinBobrovskyKarlsson could work

Created by: bunnymcfoo
Team: 2019-20 Florida Panthers
Initial Creation Date: Apr. 14, 2019
Published: Apr. 15, 2019
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Look, my team is choking on air right now - this is straight up a fantastic distraction. I know the Hoffman deal is kind of whack - adjust the values of the picks as you see fit.

(That said, the idea of this lineup kind of terrifies me, especially with Coach Q at the helm)

EDIT: After some serious consideration here, I have concluded that a) Hoffman should go back to the Sharks because that would be HILARIOUS (and also, they could actually use him) and b) while these various trades to whatever teams probably wouldn't work, the fact remains that the Panthers could actually swing this without toooo much difficulty, and that still makes me want to cry and hide from them a little bit.

And now, it's 5 am and I am going to go sleeeeep :D

This assumes that Luongo retires.

Oh, but see - if I ran the universe San Jose would be HAPPY to take Nilsson off your hands so hey! Presto! No worse off than you were before :P

No, but really: I assumed that Nilsson will probably move on, Daccord will need development, Högberg and Gustavsson's numbers haven't been great this year, and you'd be keeping Anderson as your starter. Having Reimer as a backup for a couple of years would allow the Sens to figure out the Högberg and Gustavsson situation and/or see if Daccord turns into the goalie he certainly shows the potential to be.

The problem is, Hogberg looks like he's ready to have a crack at the NHL backup job, and adding a backup externally means Gustavsson or Daccord get bumped to the ECHL.

The only way it could really work is if they loan Gus back to the SHL.

Also Condon looks like he'll be healthy to start the season which throws another wrench in the gears.

teams don't trade for high priced backup without trading 4.3m back to Florida. of all the teams to trade Hoffman to. a team with cap issues. getting rid of cap isn't that easy.

Sure it is! They could just ignore some of the THIRTEEN contracts they have to negotiate - holy hell, that's a mess ain't it? But fair point - how's this? The Panthers would take one of those RFA contracts off the Jets' hands for a pick or two, they dip into their insanely deep pool of goalie prospects, and the Sharks can have Hoffman back :P

Man, my ass is out here in California hating you so much right now. What a problem to have! But fair point, he'd be better going to a different team without such a glut - nay, a BOUNTY - of goalies coming up through the ranks. (Seriously though, super jealous right now.)

other teams have cap issues too. to trade big cap to a team and not expecting any back, doesn't happen often. the teams that do have cap are usually non playoff team and they aren't giving up first picks for a one year rental. my jets are in a situation where they almost have to give away a few players to be cap compliant next year. Tampa, sharks and leafs are in the same situation trying to get rid of cap. there might be a bevy of average to good nhl players almost given away this summer to teams with lots of cap and need an NHL lineup.

I'd trade any of them for an owner who wasn't on foodstamps lmao.

But in seriousness, our depth in net happened overnight. Hogberg was coming off a really shaky first north American pro season, and it was looking like Ottawa wouldn't even sign Daccord. Hell, the only reason they got Gustavsson was because nobody had any faith in anything of our goalie prospects.

Dude, I'm a Sharks fan. I get the point of impending cap hell & there's precious few teams in the NHL that aren't staring it straight in the eyes - but I also know damn well that if a GM thinks that having that expensive one year rental will get them the Cup they'll move heaven and earth to make it happen (hi, Doug Wilson and the EK65 trade!)

Dude, from an outsider's perspective the absolute worst thing about being a Sens fan right now has got to be that y'all have a SERIOUS amount of talent coming up in the pipeline, twenty seven or more goddamn picks over the next three years, a ton of cap space ---- and your owner and GM are both freaking awful and absolutely not to be trusted with that situation at all. No joke, how on earth do you stand it????

My friends and I sometimes play a game of "what if" and over brunch this weekend the "what if" was "what if you had 20 billion dollars, what would you do?" and my immediate thought (even before paying off student loans!) was "make Eugene Melnyk an offer he can't refuse" because you, your fellow fans, the city, the team, and Chris Tierney all deserve so much better.

Panarin pretty much said that he's not taking a discount He wants either 7 x 10.5 or 7 x 11 no matter where he plays. And talk is that Detroit is willing to pay him between 7 x 11.5 and 7 x 12 driving his asking price up. Between Bobrovsky, Karlsson and Panarin you're looking at $32 million between the 3 good luck making it work cap wise. Karlsson 7 x 12 Panarin 7 x 11 and Bobrovsky 7 x 9

It's really hard to be a Sens fan. They had all the pieces besides a goalie. If they don't make any of those trades, and get league average goalies they make the playoffs in a walk.

Stone, Duchene, Karlsson, Hoffman, Chabot Tkachuk, Dzingel is a core you could have won with.

I don't think I'll ever get over the Stone Trade. He is a perfect player, and far and away my favorite player of all time. I feel bad for Brannstrom.
