Wow, I really this end result but have a few comments.

    1. Think your estimated values for johnsson, Marner and Kapanen are really close. Perhaps a little high on johnsson.

    2. Like the signing of both Hainsey and Mcillrenay but think your a little low. Hainsey will be closer to 2 and I expect Mcillrenay will stay in Carolina and be 2 million also. I would not be upset bringing back Pollock as RD on 3rd pair if Hainsey not available.

    3. You will need to offer more to Edmonton to get Larsson. I like him and definitely believe kadri should be traded.

    4. Not sure Jankowski for brown is a deal Calgary does. I like the player and what he adds to the roster.

    5. I like Pesce as an add. I believe this is the type of offer it will take to get him out of Carolina. I don’t mind seeing the last of nylander.

    6. So we get Zack smith for 1.2 million aaa, MLSE get to flex financial muscle and spend another 9 million on LTIR........we get out of Zaitsev contract which frees up cap space for Larsson. I love this but does this put us over the maximum for LTIR? I think it is maxed at 10% of cap.

Both of those contracts are insured, sens pay very little out of pocket.

You bring up some really good points.

    1) I can see that however for me I think they are solid bridge deals for both Kap and Johnsson and I think Marner has always been in the 10.5-11M range but didn't do himself any additional favours with his playoff performance and think around 10.5M as a winger comparable to P. Kane will be fair

    2) I see this as a last sort of year for Hainsey and a 1 year 1M is fair IF he wants to stay very circumstantial though - and Mac I think would have a chance to sign because CAR has Mrazek they have to pay, Darling on the books and Nedejkovic waiting to come up

    3) Idk possibly, maybe an additional pick or prospect but I think the value is very close and the age differential is very small too. Both are coveted positions at C and RHD

    4) I could see CGY doing it just because I think Brown is a really effective player and they are very deep down the middle with Monahan, Lindholm, Backlund, and Ryan

    6) Good point about LTIR - I'm not totally sure about the rules but the Sens combo of MacArthur and Gaborik both exceed 10% of the cap

There is no rule. They can have as many players as they wish on ltir. But as I stated they are both insured do sens pay 20%... so >1m

I look at it in the sense the Leafs would be getting a top 2 D man and could possibly form one of the best pairings in the NHL with Rielly-Pesce that are young with incredible cost control... I also don't see Liljegren becoming the type of player we all expected him to be I see Sandin with a higher ceiling and as the untouchable prospect

Lilly is a 20 year old which is young for a Dman. Trading him before giving him a shot with the leafs could turn out foolish.

Moving him with nylander and a 3rd for a player who has never played a top pair.... sounds like very poor asset management.
