Whats the ask on Miller? And why was he a healthy scratch?

He is defensive liability who needs to be played in sheltered role , He has a heavy shot, you can expect him to score 10 goals and 40 point each year. Overall he is a solid player who can help your powerplay.

looking for a placeholder until we can determine if smith is a 1. We dont need O minded guys just good d minded. I guess we should look elsewhere. His analytic #s are off the charts, who has he been playing with? He's got some sandpaper too, right? We have none of that here outside of a guy or two. Thx for the info

Jon Merrill and Holden have been his partners on the third pairing.

So the VGK have as their top 6:
Marchessault - Karlsson - Smith
Pacioretty - Stastny - Stone

Plus they have to resign Karlsson, Fleury's raise kicks in, resign Gusev, and resign Subban or find a new backup. They can do that by moving Eakin, Miller, and Reeves but is Tuch going to fine playing third line minutes.

Tuch probably won't move but I thought with Mark Stone filling a similar role he might be available.

Exactly why I wanted Tuch on the Devils great compliment to Hall. The Devils have Nathan Bastian, RW 6'4" 205 lb, but he might not be ready next year; plus if they want to keep Hall they have to do some moves this summer to speed up the rebuild.

Colin Millers numbers are better than his play. I'm a Bruins fan so I got to see him a lot a couple years ago and there was a reason why the team protected Kevan Miller over Colin Miller.

Kevan Miller offers what you seem to be looking for and he could be available. He can play up to 20 minutes a night and is a defensive guy who can fight. He's like a better version of Adam McQuaid and the price would probably be a 4th + 7th. (the same thing McQuaid was traded for from Boston) Clifton has emerged as a solid RHD for Boston and the 7th Defenseman is likely to be John Moore, so the Bruins don't have to keep Miller and might be able to make use of the extra 2.5M in cap space that moving him would create.
