but the thing is, if you take that alone, without the head contact, is that a bad hit? Is that a launch, or is that just kind of finishing your hit hard. Most hard hits involve some coiling, and upward trajectory. That's how you create power with your legs. Does that little motion turn it from hockey play to predatory? I just can't see an argument for it. It's not a clean hit, and deserves a game. I just think any more than that is kinda wacky.

To make a hard hit, you coil and launch OUT, not UP. That is the first thing they teach you and drill into your head. Everyone who has played in a hitting league knows this because it is reinforced all the time.

To paint a better picture of what I mean think of it like this.
Sitting in a chair, push yourself away from the desk/table. That is pushing out.
Sitting in a chair, try to flip the desk/table by pushing it. That is pushing up.

Also, to do video and stuff, I was embedding tweets. When making a comment, the logos above the text (picture, youtube, twitter) allow you to do this.
If I want a pic, I simply copy the address of the picture (Right click > copy image address), click the picture button and paste in the box.
lgo_nhl.png
Same for a gif.
giphy.gif

The youtube button works the same way, go to youtube, get the video address and paste into the box.

With twitter, you have to click the little down arrow in the top right of the tweet, click embed tweet and a box will come up. Copy the line of text in that box (it should be selected, so just hit ctrl-c), then as before paste it into the twitter box on the comment here.

You and I have been having a pretty rational and polite discussion on this, but turning this into "your team is dirtier than mine," is kind of getting away from that. The league suspended more maple leafs than bruins this year.

And I do believe that was the primary complaint lol.

This is Boston. I'd be surprised if he even got a call.

Also he is saying **** like this, hence the response

okay...I mean if you really were concerned about that you would be trying to get rid of the true dirtiest player....kadri....one of the biggest scumbags since Matt Cooke. youre just mad that the "dirtiest team" beat out the two bit leafs. the crap he pulled last year especially to wingels was beyond scumbag

Ya I get that, he was no angel. Other than Marchand though, I don't really think the Bruins have anyone dirty. And to be fair, Marchand has done a much better job this season of being a pest rather than a guy that might hurt you. Gone are the flying elbows to the temple, but he'll still step on your stick and give you a love tap in the back of the head. Neither of which are going to hurt guys, but are super obnoxious.

Okay my internet is dying so hopefully I haven't spammed the same comment over and over again lol.
Debrusk, Chara and McAvoy are the big ones, Debrusk had a flying elbow so blatant (no call on ice) that Dermott was gushing blood from his nose. McAvoy flys under the radar a bit but he does little dirty plays like that slewfoot all the time.

I will say that Marchand has been somewhat better, but that punch to the back of the head and run away like a little **** is typical of him.
I'll let steve say it as he says it best (if I can get the damn internet to work)

Could have called a 5 when backes got elbowed to the face. Could have called Dubois for running Krug late and high. Could have, idk, not allowed a goal that went out of play. Could have easily not overturned a no goal where you couldn’t get a definitive look. Lots of things went both ways. If you think the league picked a side, you’re either trying to rile people up, or are unforgivably unintelligent

look at all that fake news. The no goal was clear a no goal. Only you and Mike there think there was no definitive look. Dubois hit was totally legal. Backes hit was on him he turned into it. The out of play goal, was missed and PER the actual rules of the game, when a pass happened that was it. It had little to do with the actual goal. Everyone was still playing including Rask.

You keep trying to justify the NHL picking winners and losers. The officiating was a joke, just like it was a joke against Toronto. With out the refs you are out the playoffs. Columbus was out there playing 5 vs 9
hell make it 5 vs 10 when the front office doesn't even suspend players for sucker punching people in the back of the head when they are defenseless on the ground. What a joke the league is becoming. Anything to help boston. They can't win without it.

Yeah that intentional knee on knee hit from debrusk he's not dirty. Or Chara, no he's not dirty at all. Hell he only purposefully put someone's head into the sidewall. But shhh he's not dirty.
Mike Millbury over here.

unforgivably unintelligent it is then. Cheers. Enjoy the rest of the playoffs if you can manage to get over how the refs and the league have rigged everything.
