Team: 2019-20 Philadelphia Flyers
Initial Creation Date: May 7, 2019
Published: May 7, 2019

Description
Forwards:
Allows the most efficient line we've had in years to come back together
Gives us a lethal second line which Lindblom should flourish on
Puts Patrick between two proven scoring threats
Hartman and Laughton played well together in the offensive zone and, together with raffl, should form a tough line

Defense:
Gives us a top pair righty to play with Provorov
Sanheim and Myers should play well together as they are both balanced and have tremendous upside as a second pair
Gostisbehere should be able to rediscover his offensive game while Morin provides a big body on the back end

Addressing Cap:
Trade JVR (or Gostisbehere if he continues to struggle) after the season and we'll get the space back from Gudas's retained salary

Drouin and rights to Mike Reilly for gostisbehere? Habs will be competing for Duchene.

At first when you said Myers I assumed you meant Tyler Myers. He would be a very good free agent pickup for Philly in my opinion.

I'd give another/better prospect (not frost/farabee) or pick even though I'd call it an overpay. You guys need help on the back pairs of defense unless you want charlie fckn coyle ripping you up in the playoffs again. Gudas has strong suppressive advanced stats especially against grit forwards and would cost you only about 800k more than one of those NCAA guys you put out there now.

I wouldn't be opposed to that but I think the habs would want more and i wouldn't pay it. I think gostisbehere could thrive in vigneault's quick transition system and wouldn't give up on him for another year.

I came into the offseason liking Tyler Myers but i just don't think he fills what we want on the top pair and while I'd still like him on the second pair I think it would only serve to suppress the young guys.

Leafs aren't taking that deal. They value Nylander high internally. If you want a serious offer, start with Konency or Myers and work your way from there

Actually I think the deals are fair. One problem in the future for the Flyers might be is they don't big cap contracts expiring when they will need cap for their future RFAs. I'm one of few Leaf fans who likes the deal you proposed. Leafs need cap room, and Nylander is the best choice to get rid the necessary cap.,

Konecny just had a better season than Nylander and will most likely sign for two million dollars less, and won't hold out on his team for 8 months before doing so. If you want Myers, you're looking at trade for him and maybe a second. If you think you're getting the 11th overall and Myers, you gotta be hitting the same glass as your last mayor.

But hey, if you guys wanna stick to your guns and refuse to clear cap, you can draft all the top prospects you want with the four picks you end up with after your golden boy gets offersheeted when he sees his Apple sponsorship contract is more than you can afford to pay him.

Thank you and I can't deny that the cap is going to be a problem, but I think there are ways around it. The easiest, of course, would be to trade JVR cause I think his relevance to this team is fleeting (and am not even sure it was there last year when we signed him). That will certainly get us out of trouble for 2020, but Hart's 2021 deal is gonna be tough. I think pushing the cap is worth it though, as it will at least buy us a two year immediate window. After that anything can change especially with the CBA expiring.
