You might not like it, but if you want Pesce, it starts with Nylander.... it has to

Anyhow, from a canes standpoint I like this idea, we have the D depth to replace TvR, getting Nylander and Kadri for Pesce is a good start, but we'd still be lacking another shutdown D man to go with Slavin

I'm afraid I'm not sir, Pesce has been a big reason Carolina are in round 3, Nylander was a ghost, Kadri makes up the difference, this sir is a fair trade for Carolina. You may disagree, but a Pesce trade to Toronto starts with Nylander

Canes loose two RHD and add more cap. Don't see the real benefit to the Canes and now the are right against the cap.

Trade value seems pretty fair

Nylander for Pesce (assuming Nylander returns to form next season it’s pretty even from an outsiders perspective)

TVR, Roy and the pick for Kadri

Still think Carolina declines. Hurts the blue line too much.

Explain how it’s so erregous that Carolina would want Nylander for Pesce? Based on current value/level of play it’s definately fair. Is it the blue glasses that’s clouding things perhaps?
Overvaluing one player and undervaluing another sounds like to me.

Its the huge undervaluing of Kadri. Kadri is a back to back 30 goal scoring center, signed for under 5 million in his prime, who is defensively responsible.

And he spent a playoff series on the bench for being a complete moron. Doesn’t help his value. Deals fair from an outsiders prospective. He scored what 16/17 goals last season to boot.

Then its a stupid time for the Leafs to trade him. Terrible asset management, don't trade a guy when his value is at its lowest. With his darling contract, he in a lot of ways, should be one of the more valuable pieces on the Leafs. Him, Rielly, and Andersen, all for their great contracts. Its a cap world and that makes them extra valuable.
