I wish Leafs fans would stop trading for RHD that aren't available...

Edmonton can’t take the cap. Blues aren’t moving Parayko and I don’t see anything to tempt derroit there.

Tel me why Wings & Blues make those deals? Wings not in the market for an AHL goalie and Holl does not move the meter. Parayko has his team in WCF, why would they move him for Nylander who has shown nothing this year. Yes, I understand that it could be one year slump but do they want to risk that, NO

I am guessing that this is one of those threads intended to get everyone worked up. Not one of those trades is even close to reasonable and the cap estimate for next year is too high. At least I hope that is all it is. No way anyone could think that these trades are close to realistic.

Any player is available for the right price. Blues need scoring and have the need for Nylander. Leafs maybe would have to sweeten the pot by adding another prospect but it is a realistic trade.

They need Parayko way more than they need Nylander. The Blues are very good up front and with the emergence of Thomas, they should be fine with their scoring.

Red Wings are in a rebuild and would be willing to take a chance on Sparks seeing that most goalies don't mature and hit their prime until their late 20's. Holl never got an opportunity in Toronto and needs a change of scenery.
Blues need scoring upfront as you can see throughout the playoffs. They can afford to lose a d-man like Parayko and replace him with a cheaper option given that Pietrangelo's contract will be up in a few years. Nylander would be a better fit in St.Louis than Toronto. He would have more protection with bigger forwards to open up space for him.

A GM needs to take risks and trade players they may not want to trade but have to trade to address their weaknesses (ie. S. Jones for R. Johansen). Sometimes both teams win the trade and other times only one team wins. I could see the Blues taking this chance if they end up losing the WCF or SCF due to lack of scoring.
