Is that a reasonable Karlsson contract? I have a hard time thinking he gets signed for more than 10.5M. Seems like he should get something like 9 or 9.5 but the UFA market I'm sure will get him more than he deserves. Injuries are becoming an issue even though he can still be an absolute stud. Also is Anaheim the team to sign him? Feel like they have a lot more problems to worry about than trying to make a big splash in free agency to try and fix everything.

I mean, I'd love to see Karlsson in Anaheim, and to not have to give up anything to get him, but we've all seen how the high dollar/long term contracts given to the 30+ year olds on this team have gone.

Honestly, I'd rather have Tyler Myers at $7ish than Karlsson at $11.5. There's obviously a huge difference between the two players, but Myers could actually fit this D core really well, and not leave the team handcuffed for money.

I 100% agree. I think for me this wasn't a "this is a move anaheim should make" as much as "this is how anaheim could do it reasonably". I would love to see an elite D in anaheim for years to come but this makes no sense for us. I think having a youngish top 2 D man that actually moves the puck well is a gap we have had for years and probably will unless we draft them ourselves.

I would personally want to sign him for under 10, but I think to convince him to go to a team on term that missed the playoffs and is going through a retooling process. I agree he isn't worth 11.5 but I think its very likely he gets paid that.
