For as much as DET fans would like to reunite Svech with his brother, its not going to happen unless DET gives him away. And, until he got injured in the preseason, he was easily on the squad last year. He's got another year left of being waiver-exempt (since he didn't play in 2018/19), but I don't see any team (especially on CAR that is going to lose at least 1 dman next season), giving away Dman prospects for maybes.

Chicago's target is probably Turcotte (Towes' replacement), as they've drafted 4 straight Dman in the opening rounds the last few years, and that's the deepest part of their minor leagues. Can't get Turcotte if you move down (he'll go either 3rd of 4th), so they'll definitely pass.

DET won't buyout Ericsson with only 1 year left, and having to spread that hit 2 years. They'll need money to reup AA and Mantha, and explore FA. They'll eat it for 1 more year, or ship him to GR and recoup 1.05mm for the season. This also goes with Lucic's contract, puts way too much pressure on the cap.

Excellent summation. Lucic's buyout is almost as bad as his contract in the first place and who ever has Lucic at the end of the next season has to protect him and I don't want to waste a spot protecting Lucic.

Datsyuk isn't coming back to the NHL he is leaving SKA St. Petersburg to play for Avtomobilist Yekaterinburg in his home town. There was an article on Fedorov coming back as well why don't you sign him as well and then we can sign Putin and have an all Russian line.
