Description

Marner and Johnsson are going to sign bridge deals. I know they don't have to because some other team will offer sheet them and pay them way more. Who knows, maybe they are happy in Toronto and don't mind waiting a year or two for a bigger contract.

For being the ultimate team guy Marner gets named captain at the press conference to announce his signing.

Everyone knows Connor Brown is going to Edmonton.

Kappanen is the casualty of the Marleau contract so we might as well package him with Brown.

One more year of Hainsey if he doesn't mind taking a pay cut.

I have no idea if Ethan Bear is on the market or if the trade is skewed in value for the Leafs or the Oilers. It doesn't really matter.

Lets say all this happens. Is this rendition of the Leafs better than last year and doe they beat Boston or Tampa in the playoffs? Tampa is a wild card with the way they went out early this year so lets assume Tampa is the top dog again in the conference and the Leafs have to play Boston again in the first round.

Oilers get screwed in that trade remove that pick. Why would marner be a team guy? Everyone else got paid so I’m sure he will too.

I honestly don't see them being a better team until Marleau is off the books. Hopefully some of the young guys in the system that get a chance next year surprise us. I think this is still a play off team so maybe a deadline signing if someone is available for the right price. And maybe Kyle has another trick up his sleeve and he finds away to dump Marleau this summer.

I'm not to familiar with Oilers prospects. I didn't realize Bear would be so costly. They will get the best they can get regardless of which team they trade with.
I think Marner will be a team guy because he seems like the most likely to be a team guy. I also think 8.5 on a 2 year bridge is more than fair. If he doesn't see it that way and wants the term then Kadri or Johnsson are gone too.

First off you're $3 million under Marner's asking price, And secondly no way in hell Marner accepts a 2 year bridge deal. Get use to it he's going to get OS for much more then is laughable offer.
