Hawks say no. We give up a third line center and our best defensive D man for a third round pick and a 4th liner.

Can see how that return isn’t great on paper but do you agree that the free agent signings would make up for it?

I'd consider it from the Hawks end if they used Gustafson instead of Murphy. The Hawks don't need scoring help, they need D help. Then again if you can package Gustafson with Seabrook I'd much rather go that route. Detroit isn't close though, so it doesn't make a ton of sense on their end to take on Anisimov.

And how do you not have Jokiharju on the opening night roster? McQuaid has been consistently hurt. He played 77 in 16/17 then have to go back to 11/12 when he played 72... Other than that, always hurt.

Detroit has a lot of young players at forward getting a good 3 zone vet with short term. Like be very useful in their development was the way I looked at it

Detroit really doesn't have a place for Anisimov. Plus I'm sure there are teams that will pay much more for him. I do like Murphy but with the log jam Detroit has at D you'd almost have to take Daley back with you. I don't think a trade that makes both teams happy could be made here.

Fair enough. It’s fun making these things and hard at the same time trying to figure out the best placement and partners.
