That's fine. I just saw those moves on other teams people made and liked them. I think one or both could be traded for picks/prospects to a variety of other teams, or even just for a lesser return.

If Las Vegas moves Marchessault, then Tuch moves into his spot and the Golden Knights still have their top 6 set for at least the next two seasons, so they don't need Kessel.

Ya know I thought about that as I know Tuch is deserving of a top 6 spot but I figured they wouldn't have as much of an issue with it given they're getting a player of Phil's caliber back. I also know that their cap situation is bad, but holy lord I just tried doing their side of that deal to see what it would look like and even getting a couple million in relief from that move requires a lot of cutting somewhere and a very suspect D core. What would you say might need to be added if it's Schultz instead of Phil in the trade? Gives them another 1.3 million in space and Tuch has a spot in the top 9.

It is and never has been about "need." It's about winning. If it was about need they would have never traded for Stone in the first place. As they had both Tuch and Marchessault.
They wanted to be able to role 3 dominate lines. To be honest if it wasn't for a blown call they would probably be playing for a cup right now with them.

Yeah I would agree with that. Do you think it would be anywhere close though if it was Schultz instead of Phil?

I don't see the penguins trading Schultz. There are 3 other defensemen they will move before he is even brought into the conversation. If anything, he's kind of a wink wink nod nod extra slot in the expansion draft when he waits till after the expansion draft to sign an extension.

Fabbri to Pittsburgh makes sense, but the problem for Pens fans is that the Blues would be moving him at low value right now. Coming off his knee injuries, he's taken a bit to regain his speed and fearlessness of cutting when needed. He's looked really fast and played well during the playoffs, so perhaps he's on the upswing right now. Based on this, the Pens would be wise to gamble on his upswing, but due to his numbers, would likely low-ball STL. The Blues, OTOH, would be wise to ask for his projected value but likely won't find a buyer yet. I think these reasons make this trade a no-go, but Fabbri would be a very good pickup for Pittsburgh if they could get the Blues to budge.
