It would take 1st I know. But they might get one. And 2nd too. I think they would re-sign him.

EDIT: Mistake was made in conditional pick. 2021 that is.

No way I'm giving up #11 overall for Kadri. I'd give it up for Spurgeon though, but only if we had an extension worked out and agreed upon ahead of time.

Kadri has better contract and term than Spurgeon. Price for him would be higher than many expect but tbh yeah.. that 11th overall is kinda overblown value.

Hm... I'm not a huge fan of that Spurgeon trade. We have tons of depth LD with Seeler, Soucy, and hopefully Hunt if we re-sign him (which we probably will) so I don't think Hagg is that great of a fit. We could use a LD with top 4 upside but I just don't think Hagg will be anything more than a career 3rd pairing guy. If we're getting picks I think our owner will force Fenton to get them for this year's draft. I understand you can't have conditional picks for this year's draft since the signing period is post-draft, but having the center piece of the trade as the conditional pick isn't a great idea for us (even though I think Spurgeon would re-sign in Philly especially since Chuck is the one that gave Spurgeon a chance to become the player he is today). I think something revolving around that 11th overall pick or a good prospect and maybe a conditional 2nd or something in next year's draft is more realistic. So basically it'd look like Spurgeon for 11 OA and a conditional 2020 2nd based on Spurgeon re-signing.

I wouldn't mind having Kadri. He would fill our need at Center without needing to sign a long term high dollar deal to a mid-tier player like Jimmy Hayes (who is probably the best C on the UFA market and many Flyers fans are pushing for). But given his disciplinary issues and Toronto's somewhat difficult cap situation, I'd like to think Kadri can be had for significantly less than that.

How would you feel about something like Van Riemsdyk for Spurgeon?

Eh, I wouldn't like it. We have a million left shot wingers (Parise, Zucker, Donato, Fiala, Greenway, Foligno, and probably Rask since we have too many centers) and it was a major problem scoring off the rush for us this past year. I can't tell you how many times we could have had an easy bang-in goal on the right side but our winger was a left shot and he flubbed his stick and we missed an easy goal. Trading for JVR would only exacerbate the issue, we need right shot wingers desperately.

Fair enough. If you were proposing a trade that sends Spurgeon to the Flyers, what would it look like?

I'm actually cooking up a post right now about that. I've got a few ideas in mind, I'll post it in about 10 minutes!
