Why is that?

I was going to comment how hair the trade is.

Dubas won’t move nylander but I think this deal is as close to fair as possible. I was kind of on the fence for whether or not this was fair so to me that means it is probably fair.

Unless you think zaitsev is the worst Dman in the league and will cost us three firsts to move. In which case we don’t have any common ground.

Are the two Dmen Bobby Orr? Or maybe Anderson is Mario Lemieux?

The two best players in the trade right now go from Columbus to Toronto

This trade gives toronto everything they want. a really good, big top 4 RHD, another cost controlled top 4 dman, a big top 6 forward that is still young and they also get cap space because of this. Columbus gets... a struggling forward and an overpaid dman and lose all the depth they will need when their FAs leave

Savard is better than Zaitsev, you may not remember, but I have a pretty loyal attitude towards Zaitsev and I don't consider him the worst defender in the League, but his contract is really bad. Anderson is a very good physical winger with funny 1.8 M contracts that has speed and can score points. Nutivaara the fans of Columbus valued at least no worse than Savard. I don't know much about Brooks, but judging by his production at AHL, he looks like our CJ Smith from Buffalo, and he's not worth much. As a result, the deal is inclined in favor of Toronto. Nylander probably the best player in this deal, but he's not coming off the best season and a 7M contract.

Brooks is a B prospect for sure, Anderson isn’t on a weird contract. He just had a good season last year.

64 points in his first 160 games then last season he put up 47 points. Maybe he’s a late bloomer or maybe it’s a one off season.

I think with nylanders dominant play at the WC we are going to see more offers for him on this site. Unfortunately people flip flop on players here almost instantly. Nylander started out bad last season for the first 20 games Then played okay for the remainder. Now he is in form at the WC. Players don’t step into the league and throw up back to back 60 point seasons and then fall off the face of the earth. It was a funky season for sure but nylander is a highly skilled player. I would expect him to come back with a 70+ point season next year. His 6.9m cap hit may prove to be one of our best contracts.

I look at it as Savard/Anderson for nylander and zaitsev/brooks for nutivaara. We are getting some cap help so I think this makes the trade a good option. Trading nylander could prove to be a disastrous move. Especially if Anderson does not put up atleast 40 points.

There certainly are not many fans of Columbus, but the HF this proposal was ridiculed. In fact, they appreciate Savard and Nutivaara quite high and Zaitsev value as a negative value, meaning you will have to pay to get rid of the contract Zaitsev. Brooks doesn't make the weather. As I said, there Nylander the best player in the deal, but not enough to refuse from Savard, Nutivaara and Anderson, Zaitsev only disadvantage of this deal. They wouldn't even want to make such a deal: Savard + Wennberg for Kapanen + Zaitsev.
