That's an interesting Arizona trade. If I'm Arizona I have a really hard time saying no to this

I have no clue. I think he signs for something similar to Nylander. I like Nylander more than Keller

Leaf land is getting a little cap concerned that's for sure.

Your premise about Ottawa "hitting the cap floor" is incorrect. Lot of way to reach minimum floor (if they need do) without taking players they don't want. Holl and Sparks are about minimum salary anyway, so it's not like they help raise the cap. Unless a team really finds value in Zaitsev for five years, no teams trades for him. Now if the Sens want those players fine, but there are lots of other options for the Sens.

I actually think they say no pretty quickly. Toronto is asking them to take on 13.2 mil and trade a 20 year, on an elc, that had a 2017-2018 better than any season Nylander ever had.

yeah, we hate Paul Marner. We're already mentally prepared to have Mitch get offer sheeted and sign Duchene or Karlsson.

We could trade him after July 1st (his signing bonus day)

I see Keller and Nylander as extremely similar, but I gave ARI a 1st rounder because he's their best forward and they won't let go of him.

Sens need NHL players. Zaitsev (although overpaid) is still an NHLer. Holl is a 6-7 guy. Sparks could have a bounceback year.

You could not trade them Marleau to buy out. I think Nylander, Borgman and a 1st is about right.

After placing Hossa on LTIR Arz has ~14 mil in cap room. Don't really see room to take a dead cap hit of 6.25 mil for a guy to not play in their team...

his first big boy contract. He probably gets $5 for 6 years, as ARI or TML signs him ASAP. He's a 75-90 point player playing with Matthews.

How do you figure?? Nylander was never close to an 80 point player and he signed 6/45....

Just saying, the premise of Holl and Sparks increasing Sens cap is false. Any player can fill that role. Now I agree with your statement about Zaitsev being an NHLer, and I think he fair value at 4.5m. Still wonder if any teams wants to his five year term though. And if Sens don't like his term, lots of other ways to fill 4.5m in cap then acquiring a player you don't really want.

There are teams that have cap space between the floor and max who would have cap space for Marleau and his 6.25m cap hit. Now I don't think it would be a buyout because as a plus 35 player his cap remains regardless. Arizona took on Datsuyk's 7m cap hit a few years for a retired player in a trade with Detroit. Could be the same scenario with Marleau....but only if Marleau decides to retire.

Nylander will develop into one though. He's dominant possesion wise and he's got a wicked shot. Keller gets $5 because he's resigned this summer, and he also had a bad year last year.
