no chance the Bruins and leafs make a trade. Not to mention they don't need him. Marner is a stellar PP Quarter back. Any team that wants Krug is basically just needing to bolster their powerplay.

Trading Krug now is definitely selling high .
Particularly after he went all Jon Snow the other night .. I would do it though with emergence of Greclyk .. they are similar .. Bruins will lose Johannssen and still will be 2 scoring wings short in top 9 ..

Agree, they would never trade him to Toronto and the Leafs already have Rielly. I do think Krug has shown he is more than just a PP QB though. He has 12 pts in 18 games and is a +6. He has been playing at top 4 pairing level offensively and defensively.

I have been an advocate of trading him in the past, but his play has turned me around. Say what you want, he is not perfect, but that dude battles. He has been targeted all playoffs (CBJ and Tor in particular) and he hasn't backed off one bit.

The Catch 22 is that he has now played himself into a 7m+ contract, and I have a hard time with that.

They will never trade him at the deadline - The Bruins seemed determined to have a ton of D Depth since they went into the playoffs with Joe Morrow, John MIchael Liles and Tommy Cross - I can't see Sweeney letting that happen again. If they move him it will be around draft or Free agency.

Leafs won’t give that up for krug. They already have their scoring dmen, not to mention he probably wouldn’t re-sign there

Yet they are still in the Cup finals. Seems like they might not be as short as you think. Danton Heinen is a legit top 9 forward and Can really play anywhere in the top 9. - he is leading all Bruins forwards in playoff +/-, he doesn't get enough credit. They also have Studnicka, Frederic, Senyshyn, Lauko & a couple others that could fill those roles fairly easily. I also Think Johansson resigns unless he gets an absolute monster of a deal from somewhere else. I'd expect 3 or 4 at 4.5 -5m from Bruins. Basically have him replace Backes' money as I see almost no way Backes returns next year.

Not as big a fan of Heinen as you .. and good luck finding a scorer from that prospect list.. they mostly have already tried .. dumping Backes 12M contract still owed will be costly.

Min will never take backes, they already have to deal with bad contracts
