1- The swap of picks is because I think Drouin is slightly more valuable, but maybe its HabsBias. I'd do it straight up too.

2-I'd rather sign Panarin than Duchene but I think we have a better shot at Duchene.

I like the team. The problem with the trade is Edmonton has no cap space and can't afford to add $2.3M by trading Nurse for Drouin. MTL would have to take salary back.

We would have 4 mill in cap space to take on a bad contract of theirs which we could then buyout or trade and retain salary

Which contract, needs to make sense for Edmonton and obviously that contract cant be too long for MTL, who will need to pay young players in the future.

Maybe Sekera? Don't know what his perceived value is to EDM.

Manning, one year at a little over $2 million, would give the Oilers the cap space for Drouin and the Habs could keep Manning as a 6/7 defenseman or bury him in the minors for the season.
