Winnipeg would most likely match any offer sheet Laine would receive, unless its a huge over payment but i can't see any team offering him a crazy amount do to his inconsistency

Yeah, this trade isn't very good. I really do like Laine, but his drop to 50 points last year HAS to A.) make other teams at least think twice and B.) the reason he isn't signed yet...$$$. WPG probably doesn't want to make a Cap mistake...like some many teams these days gifting BIG $ without any real accomplishments.
