So many people undervalue Leddy.

The guy is worth as much as Hamonic was maybe slightly less because he is making more money. However the Habs would be taking on Komarov's awful contract with Leddy which is why I valued him as such.

I mean i guess if they're taking both contracts then maybe but I still wouldn't give up a top-4 D for a 3rd+4th, even if i'm saving that much in cap space. Komarov is a good player, too. I'm not saying MTL would give up much more, but i just don't see any reason for NYI to do it. They don't really have cap problems.

Next season might get a bit tight having to pay Barzy, Pulock, and toews but even with Uncle Leo on the roster, it shouldn’t be a problem. I really just wanted to put a more skilled player on the third line as Clutter and Leo are kind if redundant.

Even if a team takes on the Cap of Leddy and Komorov, the trade is still completely one sided.

Only way I’d get rid of Leddy just to dump a contract would be if the contract being dumped was Ladd’s. Which isn’t really feasible from the recipient’s standpoint.
