I had no idea about this trade, it would help both sides for sure, but I am not sure, you got me thinking

I made up this trade. They were just discussing trading Laine and the potential return.

I meant I have no idea about it, Ik you made it up, but it will benefit both sides, extremely interesting trade. I cannot see WPG doing it, but I can see the Flyers being down.

I think the trade works if you drop Frost.

Ghost > Trouba and Laine > Konecny by about the same amount right now. The 3rd and 4th would make up for the age disparity.

Ya this one makes me think. I absolutely love Laine and would love him on the flyers. Only thing that makes me hesitant is that we would need to sign both trouba and Laine. Trouba is gonna get anywhere from 7-8 million and I have no clue what Laine wants (10?)

That’s a factor. The Flyers would have options and could potentially make other moves. Lots of value contracts

Pretty bad trade, if you're gonna trade Laine it better be for a Matt Duchene type return unless you want a Joe Thorton 2.0 trade result.

WPG laughs in your face with that trade....meaningless picks, a decent prospect and a middle pair LHD for a top pair RHD and one of the best goal scorers in the NHL....lol okay.

Hands are tied with Trouba a bit. You forgot to mention the 22 yr old 25 goal scorer in Konecny along with the top 4d and a blue chip prospect.

No I got that in there pretty clearly. "meaningless picks, a decent prospect (Frost) and a middle pair LHD (Ghost). Konency is good but you're trying to get Laine for Konecny and meaningless picks? No chance.

I agree but the fact is Trouba s going to UFA after 1 year. Maybe there is a conditional something if he signs but... I have watched every game Patrik Laine has played in the NHL. His ceiling is very high but I’m not sure he will reach it. Would Nolan Patrick in the place of Konecny appease your rage?

I like Patrick because he's a Winnipeger but It still wouldn't be enough, Laine may have been considered to struggle with 30 goals, but Patrick is barely ably to get 30 points.

the kid is just 20. Look at Pierre Luc Dubois this past season. Similar player, similar draft pick. pedigree! My bet is a breakout for Patrick this season.

And Laine is only 21 and is proven as a goal scorer
