If Canucks would take Zaitsev for five years, think the value is there for all teams in the three trades...Good thoughts.

As a Kings fan, I would do this trade, even without retention on Marleau.

The Leafs don't gain anything here. Martinez is at best the equivalent of Zaitsev, yet much older. This defense is worse than last year. Dubas will have to do better.

With Hyman and Dermott injured to start the year, what are you doing in those slots? and remember you have only 1.5 million left in cap, plus your roster drops to 21.

There even more injuries likely to happen too

I agree but this is more about saving cap space than better(ing) the team. Cause in 2 years or so Sandin, Lili, and either Duszark or Hallowell will be NHL ready and ready to kick a$$. Ps. Martinez is definattely beter than NZ.

I dont thin you answered the question on Hyman + Dermott and other potential injuries
