If Vegas has cap trouble and can't sign Karlsson, I'd go after him. He would be great as the 2C for this team, and Buffalo has some young and cheap pieces that I think could get it done. And that Philly trade is never gonna happen.

Yeah that Flyers deal is insanity. Moving up 4 spots in the draft for Ghost (who is a marginally less extreme version of Ristolainen) and our number 2 overall pick centre isn't going to happen. Why do we even want to move up in the draft? Plus we want proven NHL talent.

Patrick has not lived up to expectations and is not untouchable. I still wouldn't go after him when there are other players the same age putting up better numbers. The Ghost isn't fairing well either and to give up Risto for him is not a good trade. And swapping 1st rounders is bad for the Sabres. This trade is skewed towards Philly for sure.
