Trouba is getting more than $6M AAV.

I like the Tampa trade just question why Cirelli when you have Eichel and Mittelstadt down the middle already? Maybe get JT Miller instead and scrap the Simmonds signing.

Mittelstadt proved he couldn’t handle 2nd line C role.. if your taking that Callahan contract you better be getting back a great young player and that’s what Cirelli is.. Simmonds would look good on Eichels wing, wins battles, gets the puck back and goes hard to the net. He’s like a dog on a bone

Middelstadt is still young and I think he develops into that 2C role. I agree you would be getting a good young player in Cirelli for taking on the Callahan contract. I was just questioning the move for what could be your 3C while you could get Miller who would be a top 6 winger already on a long term contract. Don't get me wrong, I would do your Cirelli deal in a heartbeat.

I agree that Simmonds is on the decline and isn't the same player he used to be, but at that price and term, I don't think it's a that bad of a deal. Buffalo could use some leadership and toughness. He's a good competitor even if he's lost a step.

Oh I’m watching but I may be dumber for it.

Fair point about mittelstadt. Think he is getting pushed into a position to quickly.

Trouba gets more, not sure jets are looking to trade a defensive stud like trouba for a leaky Risto, caps and Tampa trades are meh.

Listen to your dmfellow fans... Simmonds isn’t what he used to be.

CORRECTION: Simmonds used to be a dog on a bone. Now, he's more a pig in slop. No jump, no heart.

I would certainly love the tampa trade, i suspect that tampa would not. After running into cap trouble, i would think they would be much much more interested in moving out a miller/gourde/johnson contract along with callahan. Theres no way a cap strapped team wants to move out an elc that is producing. Its not that its not fair, i think theres a decent chance one of the other 29 teams is interested in moving a B plus prospect for callahan and one of the 3 (5-6m) veteran forwards.
