I dont see any real scenario that Avs would move the 4th or 16th overall pick unless they are trading for a 24-25 year old Forward with Term left on their contract. This whole Avs need Depth scoring is a very lazy take. They were a Top 10 offence in the league last year (Goals For) and one of the youngest rosters in the NHL. They have depth and youth, you will get better depth with some players with natural growth and progression based on their age and add one guy in UFA.

Some guys on here at acting like they have to move heaven and earth of assets/projects/picks to "build a second line" or "improve their secondary scoring"

I agree to a certain extent, the only thing they need imo is a 2nd line center, I think Kerfoot is better off as a 3C or a wing

My take is the team is already young. If they have to move a pick for a star veteran player that has won a couple cups they can afford to do so.

Jost will be giving a real shot at 2C this year, it seems to be what their plan is. He has shown improvement and growth throughout the season. Guys a very smart hockey player and processes the game well, Let him play with one of Landeskog or Rants instead of Gabe Bourque and Matt Nieto, he will surprise a few guys.

I do agree, Kerfoot is better suited as a winger on this team. They do have a back up plan at 2C already on the roster, Soderberg. He was basically defecto that last year with ice time but played with 3rd lien wingers.

Not the 4th and 16th overall, those are known values and they will keep building up their pipeline since there is still so many unknowns with a lot of their young forwards. They could start to move 2020 picks in deals, just cant see this years picks. They wont be trading for any 30 year old plus wingers moving 1st round picks for them
