Put Walker in there instead of LaDue and I concur. 50/50 on Phaneuf buyout. I also think we'll see Clague and JAD join the team this season, even if they don't start with the Kings out of training camp.

2020-21 looks significantly better though, as there will be a lot of young quality prospects cracking the lineup, likely including whoever the Kings draft at #5 in a couple weeks.

I'm curious what LAK would part with to shed either Kovy or Phaneuf. Also, no Kupari??? Kid is legit

For sure, any number of prospect-type guys can go up/down. Walker, LaDue, Durzi might impress ...

Same for forwards, but since they are all ELC and similar $$ it doesn’t really matter if Luff or JAD are up there from a CAP perspective.

Phaneuf has a good chance of getting bought out.

Chucky has a strange contract where he gets paid July1 his $5.7M bonus then earns minimum wage ... He has retired from the NHL before ...

Either way, can’t bank on either so they are in the roster. frown

Kupari, JAD, Durzi, Anderson, Clague, etc

All need to spend some time in the AHL.

Call-ups for sure

I doubt they'd have to shed any assets to get rid of Kovy. They would, however, have to retain on his salary.

He showed he can still play in the NHL, even though he was criminally misused by the LA coaching staff last year. Getting him at a 3.5mil cap hit would probably be good for a team like Dallas that is looking to contend now or any other team that could use a scoring boost at the deadline.

I don't think the Kings would part with anything. They'd certainly be willing to move them with some retained salary in exchange for some assets, but they won't part with any quality assets in order to get someone to take them on. The Kings don't need the cap space anytime soon, so they can afford to just swallow their contracts.
