No chance the Canes trade happens. Need a much stronger offer to get Dougie. There is zero incentive here to take action.

I agree. Plus now you're making them do more work and give up another asset to move Marleau. Unlikely.

To Canes: young 20 goal RWer, 22 year old with 79 points in 75 games in the AHL, D prospect and 2nd

The marleau retention helps there cap without having to pay him real cash.

The 3rd pick is in there for the sole purpose of being traded. there not giving up an asset. 3-way trade

For their best RHD on best contract in NHL And to buyout marleau. Not even close.

Thanks for the reminder, all great info. We have plenty of AHL talent on the Checkers (who shut down Bracco in the Calder Cup ECF) who we can bring up for free. Kapanen is a target, not happening for Dougie.

You have to give a team an incentive to trade, this is just flooding assets to a team who had a ton of assets and picks already. Canes are looking to do the opposite- give up futures for now players.

Crap? Take Marleau out and it’s an overpay. I would take out hollowell and Bracco and do kapanen and a 2020 1st with a B forward prospect. Engvall or maybe Timashov.
