As a Canuck's fan, I like the Kapenen deal. Would you substitute Tanev for Larsson?

Larsson is younger, has a lower cap hit for an extra year, and both are UFAs and most likely wouldn't be re-signed due to Toronto's young depth at the blue line so a Tanev deal wouldn't make much sense at all. Also, Larsson is a much better player.

Might need to retain a bit on Zaitsev and add some more juice to the VGK trade but otherwise looks really good.

I disagree chips, they need to get rid of Miller's contract and receiving an actual roster player who scored 20 goals in his rookie season isn't a bad deal to clear over $1.5M in cap space.

Doubt Leafs would retain any money on Zaitsev's contract due to its length, Kazaker. Roughly $1M retention over that many years could come back to bite them.

Vegas only want picks and marner is going to force the leafs to sign him for at least 10.5

Marner has minimal leverage as an RFA and as I posted in the description, contracts are based on Evolving Wild contract predictions which year over year seem to be fairly accurate and reliable.

The only thing I am skeptical of is the Brown - Miller trade. I think you may need more than the 7th round pick to go with Brown. Defensemen are just inherently more valuable than depth forwards.

I nice trades but Johnsson already declined a deal (I'm pretty sure) of 3X3 or 4 so I think 3.250 is where he lands at or near. Also I would try to get a better 4th line centre if possible on a 1 year deal or more. nd Hyman is on IR to start the season
