I don't think Kappy plays LW all that often.

Isles say yes to both deals then run like hell. I do think Bellows would be a good grab for you guys considering how well he played with Cody Glass in juniors.

Just turn injuries off, that way you don't have to worry about having no cap space to call anyone up.

He's played a ton of it in the AHL. He's very versatile, can play both wings well.

Vegas is adding more to that Toronto deal. The value may be pretty good as is, but Vegas is in a worse cap situation than Toronto. Teams aren't gonna give Vegas fair value to shed salary, they'll have to overpay. Not to mention that Vegas probably doesn't target Kapanen cause he could sign for near Miller's contract AAV which doesn't help their cap situation. So it's not a realistic deal really

I thought NJ was looking to move on from Schneider or go with 3 goalies.

If I recall correctly he played it on occasion, but the Johnsson - Aaltonen(?) - Kapanen line was the super strong line that dominated for the Marlies, so I wouldn't really say it was a ton, more or less just when needed, which wasn't all that often.

Bellows had a rough rookie season as a pro, but he may become a Pacioretty in a couple of years.

Probably should ask for 23rdOA as well though. Marchessault's best years are probably ahead of him.

Mayfield, Bellows, 1st, 2nd, and 7th for Marchessault and Holden? Throw in Haula and you have a deal.

Definitely not go with 3 goalies, they're in a good spot right now. Schneider actually looked great once he got back from the IR and they've got their 'goalie of the future' already at the NHL level in Mackenzie Blackwood.

I think people make that mistake because there was a good 2-3 weeks last season where their TOP 3 GOALIES were all injured at the same time.

You actually are over the cap because you need 23. Easy solution though. Move Haula for pick/prospects. Bring back Belle at 1.4 mil to keep the bash bros line together. Then you have enough cap to roster Zykov.

The big question for me is what do you do with your center group after 2020. Glass will be more than ready, so you can't hold him down. You have to either let Eakin walk and Glass takes his spot. Not bad, but kind of lateral move. Or perhaps you resign Eakin, move Stastny's (yes, I know their is a hurdle of his NMC) expiring contract for assets and call up Glass. I prefer the latter with having a great center core long term of Wild Bill, Eakin, Glass, and Belle/cheap veteran.

You can open the season with 21 or 22 players on the official roster if you want but there's usually someone that gets injured in camp. I expect a call up or two to make a full 23 man roster on opening day.
