The max deal right now is 20% of the cap, and if the cap raises $10M in the next 2 years (not likely) he can't sign a $20M per year deal (and any team that offers him a max contract is insane, he's not worth more than $9.5M IMO). Erik Karlsson is made of glass, he's not going to bet staying healthy on earning more money. If he's smart, he'll take the $11M for 8 years that SJS potentially wants to give him.

that zucker trade is horrendous, 1 cap dump and 1 very injury prone player with a bad pick and a ok prospect at best for a top 6 forward that both teams are trying to get younger. Not to mention the philly deal would never accept. Ghost has much more value and they are trying to compete for the cup while jet whoo wont be playing for another 2 years in the nhl thanks to the contract he signed not to mention this isnt enough value for him also delays their contention. Not to mention karlsson is looking for money and to compete so vancouver would be one of the last teams on his mind.

The Wild don't need Tanev and you're going to have to pay more than a 4th and a depth defenseman to get someone to take Eriksson and Zucker certainly isn't going the other way on that deal. If the Wild needed Tanev, that package might be enough to get future considerations back. Probably not though.
