Only way a Trouba Trade would make sense to me

Description

Not sure about the value of these trades. I’m sure value’s off. But rumors are flying that Lou is pursuing Trouba, and with the Isles stacked at RD, I can’t imagine why he’d want Trouba unless he’s looking to flip him for the forward we really need. Toronto is in dire need of a truly talented RD, and I’m sure they’d love to have Trouba on their blue line. With a trade like this, the Isles get to keep 3 more 1st rounders and the Leafs could get an actual roster return for Marner.

All of that said, I don’t think Lou is actually pushing to get Trouba. I’m just trying to figure out what he’d do if we ended up trading for him.

Jets fans are going to want Noah Dobson plus an additional prospect plus a 1st rounder. Don't even try to post a trade for Trouba without an organizational untouchable. Which is why Trouba plays for the Jets next season.

If you do get Trouba you could probably part with Wilde, doubt Lamirello is gonna trade for Trouba unless he's signing him long term.

So you trade Trouba to a Canadian team, When he has no desire to play in Canada. Yeah that's not going to work. And besides Marner is worth more then Trouba.

I’ve never heard about Trouba not wanting to play in Canada. I believe you, but do you have a source?

Also, yeah, sure, I said I knew value was off in the description. I’m just wondering if Trouba-for-Marner made any sense as a concept, because I don’t get why the isles would pursue a RD.

I highly doubt Isles are interested in Trouba and if Lou was interested, we would never know about it... NYPost writer is clueless...

I considered putting in Wilde, and I think you’re right that the Isles would be willing to move him with Dobson looking NHL ready.

Yeahhh this is honestly me kinda devils advocating this idea. I’d much rather chase a forward, so I though maybe we’d pursue Trouba so we could flip him for an elite forward.
