Botterill probably won't rush Borgen or Asplund. He already rushed Thompson and that didn't work. I think realistically Olofsson and Nylander make the team out of camp. Smith too if we sign him. Asplund could surprise but he would be better in the A for another year

I agree here 100%. We have always rushed our prospects too quickly and they never truly developed into what they could have. Let the young kids become men and bring in some bottom 6 forwards that are capable of filling the needs of the team until the young prospects are ready. Whats is another year of development for them going to hurt. We are not cup contenders with them in the lineup this year anyway.

I agree with Asplund and Borgen. Unfortunately STL already rushed Thompson, that being said, I think he was awesome once he was sent to Rochester and during the playoffs, so I would keep him in the AHL at the start of the season unless he has an unbelievable training camp. I pray to God that Nylander could be a top 6 winger. Maybe they need another year in Rochester as well. So mostly I agree with you. BTW, I think Pilut will be a top 4 LHD and I hope he is paired with Ristolainen. I think we can also pencil Olofsson as a top 6 winger. If both of them can make the leap to NHL as top 6 winger and top 4 LHD then Buffalo will be in the playoff hunt for most of the season.

I agree, I was rather disappointed that Mittelstadt started the season in the NHL. While Mittelstadt looked good in college, in his short 6 game tryout in 2018 and the 3 on 3 prospect competition, but he was invisible in the 4 team prospect challenge and of course all of last year.
I like Betterall, but I think he misjudged Mittelstadt's progress and Betterall did not seem to be on the same page as Housley. For example, IMO Beaulieu could have been as our 3rd LHD over Scandella at a lower cap hit. Pominville played well on the top line, I wonder if he played all season on the top line and had over 20 goals at the TDL if he could have been moved for a decent pick.
Well that is my rant for the day.
