Lindell is maybe overpaid at 500k most. He is a solid number 3 dman that can be a number 2 on a bad team. He’s our best defensive dman by far and to say he’s massively overpaid is foolish

He has worse analytics than Zaitsev and everyone says Zaitsev is overpaid at $4.5M but Lindell is only overpaid by $500K at $5.75M? ... seems legit.

Lindell's puck possession & shot contribution numbers are very identical to Zaitsev's (which isn't a good thing). Where Lindell separates himself from Zaitsev is the fact that he's a brick wall through the neutral zone and at his defensive blue line. Over the last 3 years, he's one of the best defensemen in the league at preventing zone entries from opposing teams. That's where his value comes from.

Now, all that being said, he is overpaid. I'm not going to say that he is "massively" overpaid, but MAXIMUM he's a $5M defenseman. Whether or not that is a massive overpayment to you is up to your connotation of the word.
