You can bury Brodziak in the minors and save pretty much the whole cap hit.

I don't know if i could trust Ho-Sang as a top 6 guy right now.

I like Burakovsky, but don't think Washington would do that deal.

I think it does. Ottawa still needs NHL D. Its not a long term commitment, only 1 year. Melnyk saves over 1mil, which he needs. Pageau doesn't resign in 2020 anyway.

I'd do that deal if Rattie was replaced with the 2019 NYI 3rd rounder.

OK what about I break it up with Manning + 4 rounder for a 7th rounder. Then instead of trading for Pageau, what if we traded Hebig + McPhee + a pick/prospect to Vegas for Eakin? Would that go through?

I guess Ho Sang isn't the end all be all here. Just trying to figure out a way we can get some top 6 talent for cheap. If there's someone else, I'd entertain that.

Pageau is a 3rd liner center and a pretty decent one to boot. He's being use 3rd line center now. Manning is not even good enough to make EDM's D core. Hebig is an undrafted 22 years old whose really nothing special in the slightest.

I would wager that there is at least 1 team willing to trade for Pageau and would give a 2nd rounder for him. Maybe Ottawa retains a bit of salary but not much as its not a big salary anyway. They would gladly take my offer over a 7th dman making almost as much as Pageau, a no name prospect that is most likely never going to make the NHL and a pick upgrade from 7th to 4th.

What about Eakin as a 3C? or who else do you have as a good 3C option for the Oilers?

Pageau makes sense, just not for Manning and a 4th...... Eakin makes sense too. These are all good options but you can't just slide Manning into the deal and expect it to go through.

What do you think is a trade package the Oilers could do for Pageau/Eakin? How would you clear up Manning?

Honestly, forget Manning. No one is trading for him unless its fro another waste of space player. Habs for example might do a Weise for manning swap? Habs could use an extra 7th LHD and EDM could use Weise as a 13th forward.

Eakin is probably more reasonable to get than Pageau. Vegas needs to cut salary without taking any back. So maybe a late 2nd or 3rd gets it done.
