I disagree. He's little more than a rental. There is control on Murray, defense is at a premium and Murray is a good defense man.
I think CBJ can do better.

Do y’all have a top-6 forward to spare?

But it’s also hard to find a 30-35 goal scorer yeah he’s a free agent but panthers could get a lot more at the deadline.

the panthers probably aren't waiting till the deadline. They want cap space to sign panarin and bob.
On top of it Murray will return more than a rental.

Think of what stone got at the deadline. Yeah he’s a bit better and they probably won’t wait until the deadline but Hoffman for Faulk is better for the panthers since he’s better than Murray. Plus the panthers will have plenty of cap space once lou goes on ltir and Reimer is dumped off that we don’t need to trade Hoffman right away.

Murray can easily return a younger winger with term or control. You just don't want to accept that.
Kap from Toronto for example. Would be a more reasonable trade.
CBJ isn't going to trade him for a rental of a player that probably isn't going to resign.

But kapenen isn’t really that close to hoffman. But yeah after what happened this past spring I can’t see the jackets trading for anyone who’s a ufa.

I love how we’re all overlooking the Pavelski signing. He’s not signing in Columbus and if he does he’d be a much better center then Wennberg and would likely be on the 2nd line.

Pavelski doesn’t play center anymore. He’s strictly been a RW in San Jose the past two years.

Then that signing is even worst tbh. He’s older and on the back side of his career. We need a second line center not another RW.
