Not even sure the Bruins would have to give up picks, Rask is so bad lol. I'd keep Lee at LW and move DeBrusk down but other than that I like it.

Honestly as much as I hate to say it, I'd rather keep Backes. Rask has been miserable and is close to playing himself out of the league. I'd rather keep Backes for the season and buy him out next offseason than pay Rask 4 million for 3 years.

Hell ya, this is a really good idea, and honestly one of the first I've seen on how to deal with Backes. I don't think you really have to include the picks though, mostly because if you do this deal after the first, Minnesota saves 7 million dollars in real money. So, give Rask a shot, and if he stinks, send him to the minors, saving the, I believe it's gone up, 1.1 or so million. So it's kind of the same as eating half of Backes deal to get rid of him, but, I think it would be much easier to move Rask after next year than it would be to move Backes.

A+. Best of a bad situation, huge fan of this concept, even though I think Rask most likely goes on waivers and to the minors, with Studnicka coming up.

lolllllll I was honestly thinking that too, but he is still 26 so the only reason that picks might have to be included is because he MAY still have potential. But 100% agrre that Rask is crap!

The Picks I agree were necessary! and 26 so he may have a breakout season, or send him down and bring him backup if he starts to get his crap together.

I can see what your saying forsure! But this trade was more so to free up 2Mil right now to make a larger signing like LEE (hopefully doesn't end-up like Backes lol).

I definitely like the thinking though. It's not a bad idea at all. And who knows maybe Victor Rask could find his game in Boston lol. I just think there's a lot of risk to that. But I'll tell ya one thing, the day the Bruins buy out Backes, I am getting sauced LOL party time
